Eligibility Criteria
All academic and research organizations in New Brunswick can apply for funding under the RATI. Positions funded under the RATI must add to the number of existing staff, and only full-time positions are considered. Candidates for the position must be graduates of a recognized college or university, and cannot be students at any learning institution during the tenure of their employment. While all disciplines are considered, emphasis is placed on applications that relate to one of the Foundation’s strategic industries. Research programs that demonstrate value-added relationships with the private sector are encouraged.
RTI proposals are additionally evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Expertise and track record of the technician’s supervising researcher
- The technician’s expected contribution to the research program
- Potential for innovation and economic impact on New Brunswick
- Funding from other sources and infrastructure available for the research program
