Eligibility Criteria

All academic and research organizations in New Brunswick can apply for funding under the RAI. While all disciplines are considered, emphasis is placed on applications that relate to one of the Foundation’s strategic industries or for the purpose of education and training.  Research programs that demonstrate value-added relationships with the private sector are encouraged.

RAI proposals are additionally evaluated according to the following criteria:

• Scientific and technical merit of the research program
• Expertise and track record of the technician’s supervising researcher
• The research assistant’s expected contribution to the research program
• The research program’s potential for innovation and economic impact on New Brunswick
• Funding from other sources and infrastructure available for the research program.
