AnyWare Group – Remote Access for Healthcare
There was a time when doctors and other healthcare specialists had to rely on verbal descriptions over the phone when responding to an emergency situation. Today, Anyware group’s internet-based service, called ROAM, allows physicians and specialists to look at diagnostic images, laboratory test data and other patient information anywhere they can connect to the Internet. ROAM is so advanced it can bring together almost all existing major healthcare information systems into one user interface. Plus, from receptionist to a hospital’s chief surgeon, the system knows who you are and what kind of information you’re allowed to access. The company started in Saint John after a group of six ITC professionals from the telecommunications industry came together to create a business focused on Internet security. With little or no formal training in business, their technical expertise and success in other markets attracted investors enough to give them the money they needed to hire the business talent they needed to seed the company and grow. Since then the more than $10 million they’ve raised since our original investment has allowed them to turn their business into a multimillion-dollar enterprise with deployment in over 80 hospitals throughout North America.
