Strategic Industries Value-Added Natural Resources

Value-Added Natural Resources

New Brunswick has a long history of producing and exporting products made from its abundant natural resources. But as markets, consumer tastes, and industrial uses change, so do the products that we produce need to keep pace. To help do this, and advance the province's competitiveness, we make investments that add value to the natural resources in New Brunswick, including:

  • New product development
  • Value-added agricultural & aquaculture products
  • Food safety
  • Fish, shellfish and alternative species
  • Silviculture,
  • Wood composites,
  • Engineered building materials,
  • New mining exploration technologies

If your proposition relates to value-added natural resources, but doesn't clearly fit with the above examples, please contact us so we can assess it and give you feedback about its eligibility. If it doesn't fit with us, we can make suggestions about other funding sources.

Kevin Shiell

Wouldn’t it be great if we could just harmlessly dissolve plastic containers when we’re done with them, and in a way that benefits the earth? NBCC Instructor Kevin Shiell knows how. See how he makes plastic bottles from potato waste that disintegrate in your compost.
